Crown & Bridges

Sometimes a tooth becomes so severely damaged due to decay, cracked teeth or trauma that the area is too large to restore with a traditional filling. Such cases may call for a dental crown. One option to replacing missing teeth when teeth exist on either side of the space is a bridge.

Crown & Bridges included Service

Crown

A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.

Why would you need a crown?

  • Cover discolor or worn teeth
  • Replacement of large filling
  • To stop tooth from further cracking and fracturing
  • To anchor a bridge replacing a missing tooth
  • After root canal treatment

Bridges

A dental bridge is a ceramic structure, spanning the gap left by a missing or extracted tooth. A ceramic tooth (pontic) is fused between two or more porcelain crowns on either side of the missing tooth that serve as anchors.

  • The anchor teeth are shaped to accommodate the crowns and then a bridge is bonded securely over these teeth.
